[Use of acquired usage information]

1. General provisions
Blog Watcher Inc. (hereafter referred to as “the Company”) will properly acquire smartphone usage information (refer to “2) Acquired information” of “3. Handling of information” for the range of information included in “usage information”) from users who install smartphone applications (hereafter referred to as “Users”) containing modules (hereafter referred to as “Company Modules”) provided by the Company.
The Company stipulates this policy as specific rules concerning the standard and operation of acquired usage information and will handle the acquired usage information properly as an important asset according to this policy. The Company will assign a person to be responsible for protecting the acquired usage information, check the appropriateness of handling according to this policy, and continuously improve on problems to be detected.
The Company will maintain accuracy of acquired usage information and will establish technical safety measures to protect Users from troubles such as leakage of acquired usage information to individuals outside the Company without the Company’s knowledge or illegal falsification of data.

2. Scope of application
This policy applies to situations where the User utilizes smartphone applications containing Company Modules.

3. Handling of information
The Company will handle the acquired usage information according to the following paragraphs.
1) Acquisition of information
The Company will acquire usage information such that the provider of the smartphone application containing Company Modules (hereafter referred to as the “Application Provider”) may deliver products and services matching the interests of the User or information related to these to the User, and such that the Company may use the information for the purposes stipulated in “7) Purpose of information use” in “3. Handling of information.”
2) Acquired information
The Company will collect the following usage information when the User utilizes smartphone applications containing Company Modules. However, information allowing identification of the User (such as name, email address, credit card information) is not included in the information acquired by the Company.
i. User information
・ Identification symbol assigned by the Company for each User/terminal
・ Gender, birth date, and categories interested in as entered in the profile management screen of the smartphone application
・ User/terminal positional information
ii. Terminal information
・ Terminal type (brand/model)
・ Terminal OS version
iii. Beacon
・ Identification symbol of the relevant beacon when a beacon managed by the Company is detected
・ Field intensity and detection time of the relevant beacon
3) Information acquisition method The information is delivered to the Company via the Company Modules inside the User’s smartphone and stored in the Company’s server.
4) Provision of information to third parties
The Company will provide the acquired usage information to the recipients stipulated in “5. Data recipients,” limited to the purposes described in 7). The Company may additionally provide information to third parties.
5) Range of data recipients
The range includes operators providing the applications, sponsors of the Company’s advertisement operation, business alliance partners, and other entities for which the Company has approved provision based on the Company’s screening criteria.
6) Information provided
The Company will provide the following usage information collected by the Company when the User utilizes the smartphone applications containing Company Modules. However, information allowing identification of the User (such as name, email address, and credit card information) is not included in the information provided.
i. User information
・ Identification symbol assigned by the Company for each User/terminal
・ Gender, birth date, and categories interested in as entered in the profile management screen of the smartphone application
・ User/terminal positional information
ii. Terminal information
・ Terminal type (brand/model)
・ Terminal OS version
iii. Beacon
・ Identification symbol of the relevant beacon when a beacon managed by the Company is detected
・ Field intensity and detection time of the relevant beacon
7) Purpose of information use
The Company will use the acquired usage information for the following purposes.
・ For the provision and operation of the Company Modules.
・ For the summation of properties and analysis of the acquired usage information, creation of statistical data, and data provision operation (statistical data refers to information processed such that individuals cannot be identified, and the material may be used and processed in operations to develop new services and to improve Company Modules; additionally, the statistical data may be delivered to business partners that are providing the Company Modules jointly).
・ For delivery of information concerning sponsors and services of business partners of the Company’s advertisement operation (business partners refer to alliance companies, related companies, and subsidiaries which jointly deliver the Company Modules). ・ For the improvement of convenience when the Users utilize smartphone applications containing Company Modules, such as customization for individual Users.
・ For the User to modify, delete, and view his or her own registered information, and to view the usage situation.
・ For the provision of acquired usage information that is minimally required for the business partners in providing the Company Modules, when business partners exist and the User utilizes smartphone applications containing Company Modules which are jointly provided with the business partners.
・ For provision and usage as marketing data for the planning and development of new internet services and improvement of existing services for client entities and organizations of the Company.
8) Procedure to terminate data acquisition
If the User does not wish the Company to acquire usage information, the User can stop the delivery of usage information to the Company through the setup screen of the smartphone application containing Company Modules.
9) Information that does not allow identification of individuals
The usage information acquired by the Company does not include any information allowing identification of individuals (such as name, email address, credit card information). As Users cannot be identified, the information is not classified as personal information under the Act on Protection of Personal Information.

4. Uninstallation of the application
When the smartphone application containing Company Modules is uninstalled, Company Modules are also deleted from the smartphone. Subsequently, usage information is not delivered to the Company through the Company Modules.
